E. Randol Schoenberg, a frequent speaker for Jewish genealogical societies, gained fame from his representation of Maria Altman in her effort to recover six Gustav Klimt paintings that were stolen by the Nazis and as portrayed in the film Woman in Gold.
A skilled public speaker, Schoenberg practices law and has been a lecturer at the University of Southern California’s Gould School of Law.  Randol is the founder of the Jewish Genealogy Portal on Facebook, a board member of JewishGen.org, and a volunteer curator on Geni.com
This year, accompanied somewhat reluctantly by his teenage son Joey, genealogist Randol Schoenberg filmed a documentary tracing his lineage back 500 years, from Vienna and Prague all the way to the beginning of the Jewish ghetto in Venice.  The film, expected to be released in 2023, features not only unusually accessible genealogical records and gravestones spanning centuries, but also the fascinating people who interpret, take care of and preserve those materials and the historic locations where they are found.  In his talk, Schoenberg will describe the process of creating the documentary, from the scouting trip prior to the filming to the post-production editing.

*A small parking lot is in the rear and ample free street parking is available.
The traveling library will be displayed in a large conference room.   There will be informal mentoring at a Schmooze Table.
