Werner Frank & Karen Franklin;   GERMAN SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP:  Ask the Experts
Werner L FrankKaren-FranklinThCurious about your German roots? Come learn from two experts. Werner Frank will provide an overview of AJU Library holdings about researching your roots in the German, Alsatian, Swiss and Austrian areas, with a focus on his personal collection housed there. He will also identify less well-known resources of genealogical value, including Internet sites that facilitate research from home computers. Karen Franklin will share new strategies for German Jewish research and update what’s new for genealogists at the Leo Baeck Institute online, and at the Center for Jewish History in NY. They will both cover research strategies and materials ranging from the Middle Ages through the Holocaust era, followed by an extended Q & A.
Werner L. Frank was born in Germany and immigrated to the US in 1937. He has written several books on German historical research and was one of the founders of GERSIG, the German Special Interest Group.
Karen S. Franklin is Director of the Family Research Project at the Leo Baeck Institute in NYC.
