Description:

In tracing her roots, Laura Gold accessed her grandmother’s archive of documents and family photographs. She interviewed extended family members and utilized professional researchers in Belarus to learn as much as possible about her family story. Further information was gathered through travel to ancestral homes. Her research places her family in the context of Jewish life in the Russian Empire and in the United States. Each family has a story and that story is the story of the Jewish people. Genealogy reveals the story.
